OUR COMPANY

At Oleamea, we select exceptional Memecik variety olives from the southwest part of Turkey. The Memecik olive tree grows largely on hilly terrain rich in slate, up to an altitude of just under 2000 feet (600 meters.) It is well adopted to the region’s limited rainfall, and does not need much water, which results in the formation of a wide root system that enables the transfer of important nutrients from the soil to the olive fruit.

We control all aspects of the process: from cultivation to milling, storage, packaging and selling our award-winning Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oils. This allows you to know when the olives in your bottle were harvested, milled and bottled and the values of their chemical constituency. We pride ourselves in bringing you the freshest olive oil possible, bottling our oil in state-of-the-art nitrogen sealed dark glass bottles to preserve extremely high antioxidants levels and polyphenol count.

Oleamea is an exciting new brand, established by a brother and a sister. Coming from a family, who owns acres of olive orchards and has years of experience in producing extra virgin olive oils in the region, once a pastime and hobby, Merve and Mert have seen their passion grown into a professional responsibility. They decided to jump into this new adventure, overseeing all the farming and olive oil production for Oleamea—from the careful cultivation to harvest to milling and bottling.

Our vision is to protect the earth and deliver high quality products while supporting producers in the region who is implementing organic farming practices.

Our mission is to produce premium quality organic extra virgin olive oil that meets the highest standards of taste, quality, and nutritional value for the health and pleasure of you, your family, and friends.

OUR OLIVES

Memecik is an olive variety with the biggest cultivation area both in Aegean Region and in Turkey. Memecik typically gains flavor and smell of greens, lemon, grass and almond and when harvested before olives are mature, the product is strong on bitterness and pungency. The climate of the region provides plenty of sunshine, thus the variety is resistant to hard weather conditions. It is one of best and well-known varieties in Turkey due its distinctive sensory and chemical composition especially offering high polyphenol and oleic acid values. It is perfect for daily consumption, as a natural source of antioxidant, for the children and for the family.

OUR STORY

Çine Development Foundation was founded in 2009 in Çine, Aydin by our family where we started organic farming practices with 52 producers. By the end of 2017, it grew into more than 880 producers in 79 different villages amassing more than 14,000 acres. Organic Farming was initiated by Çine Development Foundation for the first time and its goal for the entire region is to help every farmer to do organic farming in the future.

In this specific region, most of the olive tree farms are on sloping land, nutrient poor soils and trees were cultivated to olive trees. Throughout the years, these wild-olive trees did not need much care except some trimming. However, with the efforts of our Development Foundation, our farmers are educated about taking organic measures to protect their trees in order to achieve the highest quality.

We are very proud to partner with these producers, who have a similar upbringing to our family, to bring you the best organic extra virgin olive oil.
